Towing a 28bh with a 2007 expedition el

I have a 2007 expy with 9100 lbs towing cap and 900 tongue weight with wdh. Does anyone have a similar vehicle that is towing a 28bh or 28bhg? Do you feel like it is enough truck to pull it with 3 kids? the specs for these trailers seem like they are inline with my tow cap.

We had a 2007 Expy...pulled our Salem 292FKDS just 1 trip. We could not get enough weight to transfer to the front...so it was a little white knuckle driving all the time. The numbers all said IT SHOULD WORK.....just not a real warm fuzzy feeling doing it.
I would suggest getting it loaded as you are going to go camping and find a good scale to weigh the Expy and the trailer. Also pay attention to the levelness of yje Expy when its hooked up.

I pull a 28bh with an 04 burb 1/2T, 5.3 4x4 w/ 3.73 rear. Pulls great around here (nebraska) I wouldn't break any records in the mountains, but am under legal weight by all ways (r axle, total weight, total weight with trailer). I'm comfortable, but that didn't mean everyone would be.

I have a 28bh and pulled it with my 2008 F150 a few times. It did ok, but I wouldn't want to run it across the country.

Once again, it depends on your travel plans. For short trips in the neighborhood, should be ok. For a long trip, or one that includes big hills or mountains, I wouldn't do it. You have the safety of 3 children to consider.
I saw a similar setup laying on its side across the westbound lanes of I94 a few years back, belongings scattered all over the highway. It wasn't a pretty sight.

What is the hitch weight and GVW on the TT? That would help in knowing. If you get a nice WDH like a 12,000# Equalizer, you should not have a problem. I have a 2003 Expedition and my previous TT was a Jayco Featherlite that was 33 feet long and it pulled the TT great. Never any problems and I pulled it from MI to the Smokey Mountains several times, to myrtle beach and to Florida, all on different occasions and never had any issues.

We will be receiving our new TT in two weeks so I have no opinion on how it will pull my new one, but I have had great experience thus far with the Expy and towing. Before the expy I had a F-150 crew cab and the expy pulled much better than the Crew Cab, and it was pulling the same trailer.

Just some thoughts from one that pulls with an EXPY and my limit is 8600# so you have even more of a cushion than I do. Just watch packing and loading your TT. I never pull my TT with full fresh water or my waste tanks full, so that helps on weight a lot. I do not boondock camp so that is not necessary for me.

I tow mine with a Chevy Avalanche, I am fine for here in Ohio. I would not want to tow it in the mountains such as Colorado or somewhere. I believe if you are taking it on long trips, you might need something more suitable.
