Tv mount for interior?

We have an exterior tv mount for our 30" that came with the camper. I have an 18" tv from our old pop up that I would like to mount inside. There's sufficient wall space over the bed. Is it possible to install a new mount? Perhaps a swivel so everyone can see it? We're not sure how sturdy the walls are of if there is studs to mount it to. Also, is it possible to add an electrical outlet? New to enclosed campers. Have no idea what we're doing!

I will assume your 18" TV is a flat screen. If so it probably doesn't weigh much over 7 or 8#. If there was no tag on the wall saying where you could mount a TV then there is no backer board in place. You could possibly mount on the wall if you can find the studs. Spacing of the studs is not predictable. With a light weight TV you should be able to mount on the wall BUT it would be best to remove the TV from the wall when traveling/moving as the bouncing up and down would rip it off the wall. You may want to contact someone at the factory where it is made to get more specific specs on how the wall constructed where you want to mount the TV. In any case you shouldn't use any screws that are more than 1 1/2" in length. As far as the electrical outlet it my be just as easy to use and extension cord for temporary use of the TV.

Perhaps someone who owns a TT like yours has already done what you are asking about and can provide photos of the project.

Hi there...

Our bedroom wall does have the backer (Cherokee 274DBH), and it does work very well. See some shots with the tv mounted...

Hello... For the info on the mount I used, please check the thread (link) below (I hope the copy/paste worked). As additional info, we have traveled now twice (2 camping trips), left the TV up, and it has not moved... Very solid.

I posted my 22" TV on the end of the cabinet near the door. I used a swivel mount so the bunks can see it too. I had to brace the walls of the cabinet to carry the weight. See the link s in this post to see my pictures.

Led, I checked the wall above the window at the foot of the bed. Mine has a stud right in the center of the wall! So you could probably mount the TV there. If I were to putine there, I'd take a piece of 1/4" or Luan plywood and cut it the lenght of the wall right there so I could anchor the plywood to 3 studs and mount the TV to the plywood. Maybe make the plywood 4 to 6 inches wide and whatever length would be needed to catch the 3 studs. Even a 1x4 or 6 would work. You could paint it to match the wall or stain it to match the cabinets. Or cover it in cloth that matches the bed spread. I used a pillow sham that we weren't using to make my utensil holders. If this doesn't make sense to you, I can draw it up or post pictures to better explain.

No need, makes sense. I'm very crafty. unfortunately our camper mods have been put on hold until we finish remodeling the kitchen! I can't wait to take it out!

TV mount in 2015 16BH

I also used a plywood board across the studs to mount a 28" flatscreen. Works well although I do remove the TV while traveling. We've only been watching DVDs so far but would like to receive local stations.
I'm new at this RVing stuff so was curious about the antenna connections, one marked amplifier and one antenna. Where do they go?
Is there a connection on the roof for an antenna or dish?
Its been hard to get any help from Forest River and the "one size fits all" brochure and manual is of no help.
Can you give me any info on this?
Thanks for your post.

You should have some type of antenna on the roof. If it's a newer unit it's probably the omni directional one. Looks like a flat dish. Mine is crap and rarely used it. What I have found that works good is a $15 batwing style antenna from a big box store. I connect to the cable port on the outside of the TT and hang it somewhere. I connect the TV to the jack marked amplifier but do not turn on the antenna amplifier.
Hope this helps.

Finally got the tv mounted. Got a tiny tv mount for cheap off Groupon that swivels and tilts. DH found a stud to mount it on. Just in time too, since I'll be out vending by myself for five days.

Hanging a Small TV

I have the spin tv from the bedroom to the living room, but I watch almost everything on the internet hooked up to my TV. I hung my small Vizio with a S clip onto my very sturdy curtain rod. Works perfectly!
