Unhappy Warranty woes 2011 Cherokee Grey Wolf

I just got a call back from the dealer today, come get your trailer, they have had it since October 2011 for warranty work. The tech told me they got everything fixed except for one issue.

After one summer of towing maybe 1,000 miles, the inside of all 4 tires had wear similiar to a car with alignment issues. The tech told me he agrees there is an issue but Forest River is refusing to fix and telling him the wear is normal.

The tech at the dealer suggested that I tow the trailer to the factory to show them!!!???

Has anyone else ever experienced tire wear like this and what was the fix? or where did you have the work done?

Thanks in advance.

So, is the tech saying the the alignment issue is both apparent and fixable but he suggests the factory do the job?

I would ask the tech to write down what he thinks is wrong. Its a little unclear and that is going to tell you if this is a factory issue or something you can get done on your own.

Depending if you are looking to claim a warranty item or not, you could find a shop that works on truck trailers and have the alignment checked.

If you want to read some in-depth material on this, RV.Net had a good writeup on tire wear and the alignment fix.

Had the same problem on my GreyWolf 29bh. Trailer was not overloaded.. Dealers don't know how to fix trailer alignments. Mine had the tires replaced 2 times, axles replaced one time and nothing fixed it until I had an alignment done at a heavy truck/trailer alignment shop. Fix it in 30min. They told me that almost all the trailers out the factory are misaligned.
