My hot water is coming out yellow/rust color. The plastic sink/shower is looking bad. I have to clean them often. Now the park im in , the water does have a lot of lime in it, among other things probably. the cold water is somewhat clear, but the hot comes out that yellow/rust color. Does the water heater, when heating it up , cause that dis-color ? or do I have a problem with the hot water heater, that needs fixing ?

I am assuming you have a tank type water heater and not an on-demand tankless type.

Have you ever drained/flushed your water heater?

This video, which we keep in the FAQ section of our forums, will explain this process. It basically works similar as far as the flushing part, whether you have a Suburban or Atwood brand water heater.

I would also check out the link below which has other videos. If you have the Suburban, have you checked/changed your anode rod, which is part of regular maintenance as well as needed to keep your water heater tank from rusting out? The link below also has a video on that.

Most likely caused by the water in the park, but will be aggravated by the sediment in the WH. Fill a clear glass with cold water from the park and let it sit undisturbed for a day or two then check the sediment in the bottom. This is usually caused by dissolved iron (Fe) in the water.

Sounds like your system needs a good flush. We use a filter like this one.

Might seem like overkill however some CG water is very sedimentary.

Had one of those and changed it out for a cheapo version.

Get tired of no pressure. Seems the old myth of water pressure will blow out your lines, is outdated with the new type rv water pipes. And the more filter, the less pressure.

However, I have one........

Seems most campgrounds are fairly decent water..........if I start hitting ones that are terrible, I might put the old 'fancier' filter back in place.

Go to WM and but 2 pack in-line filters. throw away once a year.
