Water heater question

I just got a new rv. I didnt notice this pip wasnt plugged into the hole for it in the water heater. Did the dealer take it out to drain the water heater for winterizing?

If so then i can put it back in correct?

Thanks

Yes It Takes a 1 1/16 socket and has tapered threads so do not over tighten. You might want to check the bypass valves on the back side of the WH and make sure they are in summer position. The photo below shows the winterized position to change to in-use turn all three valves 1/4 turn. You may have to remove a false partition or drawer to access the back of the WH

Keep in mind when reinstalling the anode rod (what you called a pip) when you go to screw it in, the weight of the rod (part that will be sticking inside the tank) will leverage against the plug part you are holding on to when screwing it in. It is very easy to cross thread. Take your time and make sure you get it started straight. You'll also want to wrap a couple wraps of Teflon tape on the threads before you start so there's no leaks when finished.
