I put a valve on mine so I could drain easier. That plug valve just wasn't functional. Any hardware store can help you.

I put one of these on mine as the CAP seemed to be a hassle and could get lost. It seems to work just fine.

On our 26RR, the fresh water drain is DIRECTLY over the front axle, pulling the cap is an instant washdown!! I took the cap off, replaced it with a plastic elbow and extended out to the side of the frame and attached a quarter turn valve on the end. This way, I can lean down - open the valve and drain the tank without getting soaked or having to crawl under the trailer. The 1/2" line is higher than the black/grey water drains, so no chance of dragging it off. Just my nickels worth ~

Mine take a 1/2 PVC cap or shut off. You can get these from any hardware store. They are threaded 1/2 inch on one end, and ready to connect PVC piping on the other if you were using them for household plumbing...sure makes it easier than messing with caps. I replaced all mine.
