What should happen during my walk through?

I know the tech will go over everything and I can be sure how everything works and there are no issues. They said to bring someone with me because I won't remember it all.

Up here in Michigan it's still cold and I know we don't want to de-winterize yet. I assume they will hook up to water to be sure there are no leaks etc. so I will have to wait another month.

What else will they do? What major things should I check?

X2 - and don't assume the tech will go over everything and don't assume he/she knows how everything works. If you don't feel comfortable with the tech knowing everything, ask questions.

If at all possible have someone video record the directions, there is a massive amount of information to absorb in a short time period. I have been messing about with RV's for 35 years. We just bought a new Concord motorhome and I missed some information about using the funky winterizing valve. I finally got it figured out. I know the tech went over it, but forgot what he said.

Also take a PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) list with you and check things off as you go. You want your unit to be 100% BEFORE you leave the dealer, it can be difficult to get things fixed later.

Aaron
Is there an "end-all-be-all" list somewhere here? (I'll admit I haven't searched yet)

Suggestions?

So far I am thinking-
1. Outlet tester
2. Multimeter
3. Flashlight
4. Tire pressure gauge

Check-
Be sure HTH works
All faucets work no leaks
Does the water pump always run on 12V or does it need to
be tested w/ shore power?
Refrigerator gets cold and freezer too
AC
Heat
Stove
Slide works smoothly
All doors and windows open correctly
Check tire pressure
Lights
Not sure of how to test DVD player etc w/ no TV installed.

I'm open to other ideas!

Have the pdi done inside.
Hooked up to water, then have them re winterize it, before you leave.
You can watch.

I would bring a video camera with a good spotlight and plenty of batteries or connect to the RV outlet.
Dont use your cell, you will run out of battery.
If you do it right you will have 2 hrs of information and you will be able to winterize your RV next time.

Take time to check everything out, don't assume that they checked everything before you arrived. FYI, I assumed and I had to pay to get some a/c and 12v plugs fixed and one of my TV station didn't work. Just take your time, and if they try to rush you through, just tell them you'll come back when" They have more time to do it properly". I wish I would have done this! Good Luck and enjoy!
