They called from the dealer today again, they wanted more pictures. They are going to order in all new "wood" for the areas affected. They also wanted pictures of the skylight above the dinette area. (We have had two leaks there before).

Just a note, MRS. Dawg has a call into FR and the warranty guy. I am sure that is not going to be a good conversation. She is my goto person when it gets to this point. She is very good at getting what she wants.

Just curious, why did you replace axles on a 2011 trailer? Were they damaged?

Big dawg I have posted last year we had the same trailer and we had a big issue with our slide out settling in the middle. Do you think yours might be and that caused the wood to buckle from the pressure?

definitely water damage, had the same thing happen over the winter when the water filter cracked due to freezing(must have been enough water in the filter canister to delute the pink stuff) Replaced the bad frame with real oak. The so called wood is really pressurized cardboard with a wood grain decal over it. If the cardboard gets wet it expands and the decal cracks. Very common on today's trailers, hard to find real wood frames anymore. Have also had issue with cabinet door hinge screws pulling out of the stuff, fixed that by gluing a pine strip behind the frame and using extra long SS screws to secure the hinge screws into the pine, no problems since.

Keep Camping, we had to have both axles and tires replaced because they were bad.

Newest Update: Wife got a call from FR. They want to transport the TT back to Fort Wayne where it was made and fix everything we want, and go over it with a "fine tooth comb". The wife wants them to fix everything and give us an extra year on the warranty to make sure we are fine for next year. We will see what they say.

Do you all think it is a good idea to have it sent back and gone through?

We had to send ours back also. Be prepared for 2-3 months to complete.

When they take your trailer for a long period of time like that do they let you use one to continue camping or are you on your own?

Usually when they take your trafor a long period you are on your own. If your dealer is nice he may offer you a loaner for a short period but the chance are slim that you will get something. It is not like a car. There is one thing that I would like to see when they take it let say for 2 months. The warranty should be extended for the perriod you did not enjoy your trailer. Mine was gone for a total of almost 3 months and I did not get on paper that my warranty was extended. But Forest Rivers was nice to us because the same problem that was repaired in the beginning reoccured just after my warranty was over and they went ahead with the repair for free.

Indeed your warranty should be extended. In Canada, as you would know, we only have about 5 months of camping a year.If they have it for 3 m0nths it doesn't leave much time to see if anything else is going to break.

They have offered to do it here after camping season, which will be the first of November. We will find out more this week.
