Yes. I removed my filter for this reason. Only have to get to it once that way. I blow the lines out as it starts to get cold but still winterize with pink stuff when I am done for the season. I use an inline filter at the hose now.

What if he has never used his pump?
I winterized yesterday and I only drained the hot H20 tank, blew out the lines and added the pink stuff in the traps. 26dbh Grey Wolf....

Should I do more?

Thanks.

If you have a filter you will want to remove it.

If you have water in the screen before the pump remove that as well.

If you have a black tank flush maybe do that as well.

Pink stuff is a personal choice. I am just not that confident in blowing out the lines alone.

I have heard a couple issues if you don’t use the pink stuff. The pump can have water in it. Even if you never used it could still be in there. And it can freeze and crack. Second hard to get all the water out of the low points in the line.

I blew out the lines last year. It did not get all the water out.

I just finished winterizing. But.........senility struck! I forgot to remove the water filter. I'll take it out tomorrow.
