Winterize Fridge Vent?

I bought RV from a dealership and as part of the winterize part then recommeded that I Cover the fridge vent so it does not get stuck full of snow and cause a back up and when it melts goes into rv insteed out the bottom.

Anyways does anyone do this? Or can I just run the fridge after each storm for 30 minutes to hour? If I run it electric or propane?

I think your dealer has a good idea.for my part we live in canada and with the snow we get here i never experienced any snow inside the fridg enclosure. But i will cover it in the future.

How could it hurt?
Just make sure it is uncovered before use!

It could not hurt to cover the fridge vent as long as you are not running the fridge.

Just curious, but if snow can get in there then so can water from a rain storm correct? If that is the case and logic then you should cover it when it rains as well. Sorry I just don't see the logic or you should cover the AC unit, furnace and water heater as well. We get wicked winds and blizzards and I have not seen any accumulation inside any of those places. As has been said above though, it won't hurt but is just something else you must document to remember to do in the spring.

Well my question has been answered. If it snows a little then it doesn't matter but if it snows more then half a inch then the cover for fridge is covered with snow then no more snow can get in.
