12V Keyed Power

Hey Gang!

New Dx3 owner here and I'm looking for keyed 12v power for our dash cam. Where are you guys getting power from that is powered by the ignition?

Thanks in advance!!

On my Force, I found a bunch of wires behind the CB mounting area that were the original cab clearance light wires for the M2. On mine, they are not used because the front bunk cap sits on top of the cab. Wire is hot only when lights are on. If you run lights when you drive, should work? There was another string of wires that are always hot. Used them for my air horn rocker switch.

Im not sure I could trust myself to turn on the headlights each time but at least it's an option. Thank you very much for the heads up! We may just have to run a wire from the back of the ignition unless there is a source under the hood. I bet the radio has one!

My dash cam is wired to the radio head unit. I did use a few hot wires, but they are all behind the dash, center near the radio. I think I would wire to the red wire off of the radio.

Sorry I dont have a specific wire color for you anywhere else.
