2015 DX3 BH Stair cover
Is there a stair cover available for my dx3? My 1999 Renegade had a cover that came with the rig. I have little kids and at night i don't want anyone falling down the steps.

Not to my knowledge, made one myself so our grandchildren don’t fall down the stairs. DW appreciates it when moving past the stairs on the road. Drops down in with recessed 3 side lips, and soft ribbed rubber on top. Stores next to Fridge when not needed nicely out of the way.

I will get better pictures this evening, this sort of shows the cover. I used 3 quarter plywood routed out 3 sides to sit down in snug, under side is wrapped with interior type heavy cloth with ribbed rubber top.

Had the grandkids over to Adventureland last weekend and it works well, even when rambunctious little toots are jumping on it.

Looks great. I will make something like that also. My hope was the Dynamax guy chimes in and notices. Like I said my 1999 Renegade came with this. If you are sell a bunk house rv then you know kids are involved and it should be part of the unit.

Just ran up some cleaned things so snapped a couple more pictures
I forgot till I was holding it that I also used a thin foam padding on underside before covering it so wouldn’t be the wood dragging on flooring when moved. With the inset edges it stays put, never moves while traveling. And if someone comes in the door it is easily moved.
Simple but great for us.

Yes but he also routed up the edges on the bottom side to kind of lock it in place. Nice piece for sure.

The other thing you could do is screw a cleat on either side of the step well about 3/4" down. Cover 3/4" plywood, add a recessed D-ring or something to remove it....then there is no high lip on it.
I actually just ask my guys to take a look at that. maybe an aftermarket part. A top mount item might be more universal...but there is more of a lip. If you can use a cleat and make it the same height as the normal floor, you could have a chair sit on it...one leg being on either side would not wobble then.

Thanks Bclemens. I just think this should be a standard part of your coach. Let me know what you come up with and maybe I can help you mass produce them. As you know it is the little things like this that sway buyers when deciding on similar coaches. Heading to Virginia Beach in my DX3 tomorrow, hope I see another one driving.

Be sure to add similar to my nylon stops on the door side like I did so it doesn’t rub up against the screen door especially while driving down the road, mine doesn’t move at all. The lip is not as high as the dinette slide carpet edge at the floor.
We haven’t stubbed a toe yet lol
Ideal would be a factory air slide step cover like our Country Coach had on front entry. Not sure it’s possible or if there’s enough room on a mid entry to do that. But sure would be nice option. I am thinking about engineering in a sliding air system if there is room under there.
If I do I will keep you posted.
Clemens might be on to something [emoji1303]

We can do that too. A sliding step would add about $1500 to the cost of the vehicle. Covered plywood on a cleat....about $50. I'll let you guys take some polling on that one.
