2015 Dynamax REV 24TB

Hello guys,

Newbie to the RV world and very excited to get on the road and discover new places. I will probably have many questions over the operation and care of our new RV. The reason we chose this particular model is that it has everything two folks and a small dog could possibly need for traveling. I was looking at class c models with the Mercedes chassis and thought that maybe the cost of maintenance would be too high.

So we chose the the REV with the Promaster chassis and so far I am pleased with the overall performance. My biggest concern has to do with a grey valve leak. At least from my observation it appears to be it. When opening and closing the valve it seems to open and close properly. Any easy way to determine the cause for this?

Another area of concern has to do with the location of the dump cap. It sits at the corner of the back of the rig and is prone to hitting on driveways. I may want to try a couple of Summo stops at the rear to see if it helps elevate the coach. Anybody familiar with these?

Thanks and I hope to hear from you.

I read somewhere online that the o ring in the valve can be bad causing leak. I want to say there is a you tube video on fixing the valves. Ours leaked on our Force and Dynamax sent me a new valve, it was easy to replace (you tube again).

That's also a cable valve. Sometimes if those aren't adjusted just right, they don't get enough force to close off that last little bit.

As for valve location there are some "drag strips" (pieces of steel in a "V" shape on the back to protect the rear end components. Just make sure the valve is not turn below those.

If you don't see an easy fix on the gray valve, should be an easy fix for the dealer.

Hi! I finally see someone on here that owns a REV!!

I stumbled across 2 of these RV's at the NC RV Dealers Show in Charlotte NC and I was very impressed with the quality and the fact that every usable space seemed to have a purpose. Lots of cabinet space etc.

I currently have a Forest River Forester Class C and I'm looking to trade for something a bit smaller with a more user friendly floor plan.

Any concerns about the single wheel axle vs the 2 wheel axle?

What kind of gas mileage are you getting with the V6?

Thank you

Hi. I purchased the REV 24RB in August. Love the RV but I have had some problems as well. To answer your question about the sewer connection, I had an an extender put on that raised the connector a few inches. My bumper still drags but the sewer connection is raised and protected. The plastic bumper is a bit shredded because it is so low. Have you had any battery problems? My chassis battery will not stay charged. Have taken it to RV dealer where I purchased who referred me to Dodge dealer. No one will take responsibility for the issue. This has been going on since I purchased in August. Have had security system disconnected as it drew on battery and all connectors checked. Battery will not stay charged for more than three days. Have had to have jumped 6 times and it is dead again today. Any suggestions. Love the RV but can't go on like this.

Sorry you are having all those problems. I haven't purchased another motor home yet but sounds like I may need to look at something other than the REV or any other Forest River product.
Thank you for responding.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. What model year REV? Did you ever take it to a Dodge dealer? The RV dealer is correct in referring you to Dodge, they would not be equipped to diagnose the chassis side if it is more than just a dead battery. What did the Dodge dealer say?

The other issue could just be a bad battery. Have you tried a new one and is that one also having issues?

Was the security system aftermarket?

On most of our stuff, we have an emergency start switch. That connects the house and chassis batteries in case one goes dead. Depending on your unit, I think the first ones did not have this switch as Dodge was new in the motorhome business and was not sure about us hooking into their electrical systems. I'll have to check that with out electrical engineer in the morning.

I'm not sure I would discount the REV or Forest River quite so quickly. When they say "no one" will take responsibility, I know I feel like more information is necessary. I find when we start asking questions, we typically find answers and sometimes another side to the story.

Travel Gal, I found your post in the "Welcome Mat" and it answered a few of my questions. I'll ask my electrical engineer and Dodge rep for some direction.

The one question that wasn't answered was...who's security system was it?

Also, how is the "Coach" battery holding up? Is it just the engine battery that is dying?

Is it dying after 3 days of storage, or after 3 days of driving around using it?

Thank you for your response. The battery dies after 3 days in my driveway. A new battery was installed within a month of my purchase by RV dealer. Still have same problem. Dodge dealer said security system was after market.. Not under their warranty..That they did not install security systems. Had house battery replaced at my expense and solar panel installed for house. Jump start button will not start it when battery is dead.it provides enough juice to allow me to remove my key from ignition. This is becoming a real problem as I am afraid to take it on the road. I love this little RV and want nothing more than to use it without worry. Any help appreciated.

What I meant by 'no one' is that the RV dealer says it is a Dodge problem; Dodge says a manufacturer problem because they feel battery issue is the result of the RV conversion. So, I am sent back and forth from one dealer to another and I still have an RV with a dead battery. I would in no way discount the REV. I love everything about it, that is why I bought it. It just needs to start.

What type of security system is it? For the car portion or RV portion? Who installed that part?

Just checked my paperwork. It was installed by Mike Thompson RV and it was called Prevent A Theft. It is now disconnected. When I first started having trouble Mike Thompson removed the MAGIC kill switch that ws installed because they thought that might be draining the battery. The only thing left that I know of that runs off the chassis battery is the electric step. I have a call into Glen Thomas Dodge to set up appointment to take the RV back in. I just picked it up this past Monday. That was when they disconnected the alarm system. I want them to recheck the battery and everything under the hood. They have commented both times I have had it in that my problems are related to the RV conversion.

The only issue with it being RV related is that we don't typically comnect anything to the chassis battery. All of the RV related equipment is connected to the house battery.

Can you Pirvate Message me the VIN? I'll take a look when it was built and talk to the production line in the morning. I don't get any calls related to the house battery which makes me worry about the security system. Unfortunately there is no One to talk to at McMahons.

Let me know what they tell you. Unfortunately something like that is very difficult to troubleshoot over message boards when there are several changes made to the original design. We have NO way to know what the added systems hooked into or what the draw is.

We'd be happy to troubleshoot it all of it. Chassis, coach and 3rd party install, but we would need it here at the plant.

Thank you for your response. When I hear something will let you know. I am not optimistic as Dodge attributes problem to the conversion. Would love to have you troubleshoot but I am in California. Did you find anything from the VIN number? Thanks again for caring.
