2015 Force 37BH Batteries

went to start the coach today, dead battery. Started generator, house batteries came up to full no issues, but, the engine battery still is not 13V ish, and no start. I know the momentary switch on the dash is meant to join the house and cab batteries for just this reason, but did not work.. Is there something I am missing? Battery disconnect is turned to the green so all batteries are in line.

Check voltage direct on truck batteries
converter should have kept them charged

Bad Cell or two?

Does the converter charge the engine batteries if you have disconnected them with the switch by the driver's seat? Just wondering if there is a bypass that bupasses the battery disconnect.

Thats a really good question and likely no

The way to test is to measure voltage at battery while connected to shore with the switch in on and off position

btw I have never been able to find that switch on mine - can you please post a pic

Well I just did a test. I hit the floor switch by the driver's seat and disconnected the engine batteries from the cab. Dash is now dead. I was plugged into shore power and got out my meter. 13.9 or so on the 4 house batteries and the same on the two engine start batteries. So I guess if you do not have shore power where you store your rig, then the safe bet is to hit the disconnect to keep loads off the engine batteries.

Still check the obvious for a drain somewhere
Charge up the batteries and watch if the voltage drips

I have the same switch on my 2016 Force HD FKS. I always leave it on. When I am not running it is always plugged into shore power. I even leave it plugged in all winter long.

Seems the Non HD force has only the Battery Disconnect in the Battery compartment. Also, where is the engine battery? In with the house batteries?

I am leaning toward a bad Boost Solenoid, since I have 13.4 on house bank, but cannot get the boost switch to allow the VDC to jump to the engine start circuit..

Next is a solar tender for when we store this winter..

Also, driverside cab step, what is that plug for? Engine block heater?

My HD has the disconnect switch by the drivers seat and a separate disconnect in the battery compartment. All six batteries live there. The outlet you refer to is the block heater I believe.

Thumbs up

Thanks all. Seems the early (2015) Force does not have the under seat cuttoff, just the switch in the battery bay.

Also seems the boost switch needs to be looked at as well as the cab widow switches in the console, all are acting like the are either bad or the wiring needs to be addressed, very erratic on their operations..

Thanks again.
