2018 Isata 3 steering wheel controls
2018 Isata 3 MB steering wheel control issue.
Neither of the volume controls (+ or -) work on the MB steering wheel.
The telephone controls on the steering wheel do not function. Bluetooth is on and my iPhone is paired / connected but I can't use the steering wheel controls to answer a call or hang up.
Anyone else seen this before or have suggestions on a fix?

Picked ours up yesterday, driving home I was able to use the buttons to adjust radio volume but haven’t tried pairing the phone yet.

Unfortunately, our 2017 Isata 3 on a 2016 Sprinter has no steering wheel controls. If I recall correctly, Dynamax started getting Sprinters with the steering wheel controls without warning and were not able to equip them with synched radios for a period of time. I don't know if a 'fix' was provided for situations like that. Good luck.

Correct. I think I answered either the PM, or the other post as opposed to answering all three. But, we did start getting the wheels in before we had a module developed to operate them. 2018 I would think that we had it by then...so it may be a wiring issue, but nothing "known".

On units without the buttons on the steering wheel could it be retrofitted with a new steering wheel with the buttons. On my older BMW it turned out that all the wiring was there for options not originally installed. It was easier for the factory to use just one warning loom. Add the new wheel and everything worked. Probably the same for fog lights. My guess is that all the wiring might already be in place.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks

The first unit to get the module was SGC001784. Anything after that, should have working steering wheel controls for the radio. Anything before that, would only work for the dash menu portion, not the radio.

What winnie used to do, was just a steering wheel mounted remote. I can't remember for what radio, but it it clipped around the steering wheel.

What brand steering wheel control adapter is Dynamax using? For example:
Metra Axxess ASWC-1 Universal Steering Wheel Control Interface which works with the MB Sprinter 3500.

We developed our own. "Someone" was using the Metra one I think and it was blasting command over the CANbus and ended up with a recall I think.

I researched the possibility of replacing current steering wheel with one that had buttons and what I recall was that once you get into steering wheels, you have to deal with the airbag, and that is a very costly procedure. I was also hoping that getting the 'smarter' dash cluster would be a nice side-effect of a steering wheel upgrade. I am saving my funds for handling upgrades. And now it appears that I would have needed to replace the radio also in order to have it sync with the new steering wheel. Time to trade for a current model.......

When I changed the steering wheel on my BMW it took the same airbag and I did the job myself in about 20 minutes.
