2019 Isata 3 24cbm - problem with coach touch screen not shutting down

When the coach power switch is turned off, the touch screen panel has been shutting off. Now the coach panel switch does not shut off and coach batteries ran down to about 10%. We used thus unit over the weekend. Backed it into shop on Sunday and just happened to look at it today, Tuesday.

The coach power switch, the one near the stairs to the coach was shut off on Sunday. But the coach touch screen panel did not shut off.

What is happening?

Do you have solar? I think there is an instance where the solar can back feed the multiplex panel. At least on the 5 series, I have not seen this on the 4, but it is possible if it is wired similar.

That panel has a power saving mode however....so I am not sure that would draw the batteries down. Did you make sure the inverter was off?

We will check. Also the back panel on the outside by the outdoor faucet is showing gibberish.

Then that panel has likely gotten wet and needs replaced. That is typically a tell-tale sign of an issue (gibberish on the outside panel). It has been mentioned here before...its like a phone is off the hook in the house. It is sending static and noise to all the other phones. (for those of us that remember land line phones)

I did not search the gibberish problem on the site. Only searched the first problem.

So are you saying the screen showing gibberish is causing the touch panel screen to stay on?

could be that or solar...but the gibberish on the screen normally results in some weird symptoms elsewhere.

Have you tried pulling the fuse on the outside display? That could be affecting the whole system. Or if you call Precision Circuits directly, those guys are pretty good at getting to the issue and have sent out parts that are in most cases plug and play.

Think we have narrowed down to the on off switch. We have ordered another switch. Due to be delivered tomorrow. We will see. The outside panel works one time and then stops, then works again.
