Any interest in something like this?

Came across this. Thought it might be worth checking out while in Delaware.

Mark,

It is a great place to visit, I live two miles from there, however it is 80 miles from Massey's landing.
There is another place that would be nice to visit it is called
Fort Miles, it is located in Lewes, and was the home of 16" naval guns that
guarded the entrance to the Delaware bay. It is a great place to visit and is
located about 15 miles from Massey's. Just a thought for you.

We done camp hosting at Cape Henlopen State Park a couple years ago, Fort Miles is located at this state park. It is an awesome site to visit and learn about the actions taken during WWII at this location. When here you will see the key observation towers along the coast line that where used to determine fire coordinates for these guns. Really is interesting part of WWII history.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was just seeing what was interesting to visit while there.

Since y’all are more knowledgeable about that area, is there really a reason to even bring the Jeep?

I mean, some places there’s lots to do close by and some places are really quiet and a vehicle is about useless (outer banks in N.C...not a lot there that you can’t do with a golf cart)

Thanks,

Mark

Sorry Mark, not many places close by to 4 wheel with the jeep, you can
get a surf fishing permit and drive on the beach, however the out of state
fee is around $180.
You would be better off to bring a boat or jet skies you will get plenty of use
out of that stuff. You still need some type vehicle to get around or you will
be stuck at the campground. There are plenty of places to visit in the area.
Okay, so we will be leaving today for Massey's and I will see you there.

I was stationed there in 1971 when it was a summer resort. We’re going to camp at Cape Henlopen State Park on Sunday and Monday and visit my old duty station from when I was in the Army. You know your getting old when a place you were stationed in the Army is now a historic land mark.😬
