Aqua Hot singing

Anyone else have a singing aquahot on their DX3?

When mine heats up it has a tendency to resemble a lighthouse fog horn

Didn't pay much attention to it until the DW was walking the dogs on the other side of the rv park and could hear it over all the normal activity noise in the park.

I have checked fluid levels and all looks good.

Any suggestions?

Is there a temperature adjustment for the antifreeze solution? Sounds like it must be boiling.

song is Foghorn in the night

It is the long "horn" that is really loud. If I don't get it figured out y'all will hear it at the rally.

that way you can enjoy it too

Last night I shut off the burner for the AquaHot and it did not "sing". So rskeans may be right in that it boils when the burner is on but not with just electric. our next stop is for four days in one place so will dig deeper to see if there is an adjustment for the burner.

If the fluid is boiling you would think that you would have to add fluid at some point. What about burner fuel pressure being too high?
You may need to have Aqua Hot service look at it. There is a great one in
CO and another in IN if you are heading east. I have both of their names and phone # if needed.

Might want to call Truma support service. Call when it is making that melodic tune. Could be excess pressure escaping, and my concern would be any adverse effects on the unit and/or a possible castrophic failure that could injure someone.

called Aqua Hot manufacturer today. Says the "fog horn" is an exhaust issue.
Said that LP is not really standardized in the US. Mixture varies with amount of butane contained in the mix. Along with changes in altitude the air/fuel ratio varies.
The Aqua Hot is a closed system whereas the intake air and fuel are provided by the system. ??
Anyway, there is an air adjustment that owner can do to alter the stock air mixture. (Air is provided by an internal fan assembly that has an adjustable intake).
Anyway it is user adjustable and said to give that a try.

Haven't looked "under the hood yet".

He did not say what to adjust for. Just try to move less air in and see if that helps.

Right!!!!

The rep at Aqua Hot (manufactured in Colorado) said they don't service the units just make them----- Really????

Glad that they told you what to do. You would think that Aqua Hot would service their units, however I do know a Aqua Hot service tech in CO and one in IN if you need their number.
