A few months ago there was a thread about back up camera in 2017 and how to get them to come on all the time or with at least the click of the back button. Someone suggested a jail break software upgrade. I really need a camera does anybody have asolution

I have read about a lockpick for the Dodge trucks. I know someone posted on here about it a while back. Wish I could be more help for you.

I know you're asking about software changes but our solution was Car Toys, replace Jensen radio/nav system with Kenwood Car Play radio with the existing back up camera connected to this new radio.

The previous back up monitor, that came with the MH, was connected to a new "always on see behind you" camera and has the turn signal cameras still there. That monitor has gain and contrast settings, can change settings to see well at night and in the day.

We have a 2016 MBS Sunseeker, so I am not sure how this correlates.

It's really great too, I didn't think it was that necessary til I used it.

I don't think it is that easy in the dodge. Everything runs through the connect system

We were under the impression that this has been corrected on the 2018 models. We purchased a 2018 I5, but on a 2017 Dodge so it turns out that we have the same issue. Our dealer is trying to make arrangements to correct this.

Our dealer believes there is a wiring correction that can be made. We live 3 hours from our dealer and are trying to make arrangements to have several different issues corrected at the same time so once everything is lined up, we will know more.

Nope. Other than a whole new camera and monitor. The camera that is back there is a stock Dodge Ram 5500 backup camera. Runs the wiring through the Dodge harness. I see no way to tie into that without CANbuc communication. That's why we went to a completely independent solution.

What about the Sony radio/camera installed in the 2016 Force... Can you suggest a way to modify the backup function to stay on to monitor your toad while driving down the road?

I replaced mine with a Pioneer head unit. allowed for camera on at all times and a few other features I liked.

Does anyone know where the backup trigger wire is connected? I'm thinking if that wire is located...it could be made hot to keep the camera on to function as a rear view camera.

Fiddler I was trying to look at diagrams but could not find anything. I was thinking we could use one of the aux switches.

We need to find where the trigger wire for the camera is connected to the backup circuit. Once that is located you could possibly use an aux switch to make that wire hot when driving forward
