Bath and a Half Bunk House on Dynaquest XL

OK, well, we modified an existing floor plan. This one measures out to 42'-5".

I may have to go back to the drawing board...this ends up with (2) black and (2) gray tanks. Just no way to route the plumbing. That would also mean, (2) macerators.

Anyway...food for thought.

Love it.

I’m not going to beat the Cascadia dead horse other than to say this would be a nice fit. In the meantime, any chance Dynamax would entertain building this on a tandem axle 112? Possibly one optioned with a DD13? I’m guessing the additional axle would require too much storage bay (and associated mechanical component) re-engineering...

3 AC’s and 12.5k generator on this floor plan, or is it not quite long enough to justify that yet?

Love the dual bedside tables, by the way!

If this could be on a Cascadia, it would be a no-brainer. Just trying to keep the length down to around the RB until the Cascadia is ready.

I would be interested in the 112 tandem too if you get big power with it too.

If we make this a Queen bed, we might be able to make this the same size as the RB. No need for the tandem. This would start on the M2-112 chassis.

One possible option is for us to create more separation on the XL and maybe do that one with the DD13? Leave the DX3 as the L9.

I would consider an upgrade to get a real, full size king bed, more power and tandem axles. Don't really need the tandem for CCC but you end up with more suspension to minimize sway, smoother ride and better traction in snow.

Out of curiosity- it's a bunk model. Any reason for not having rear facing seat belts at the dinette?

We typically avoid those in general, unless you have a wall behind you. In a head-on collision, they give you a false sense of doing anything. 7 seatbelts available.

Most people are not traveling with that many really...its all about not having to make the dinette and sofa into a bed. I agree with that. Kids can sleep in, we can start breakfast without kicking anyone out.

I’d prefer you stretch it out to at least 43’ (with a king or RV king) and make it a tandem. I’m with Randy...it would make pulling heavy trailers long distances (arguably too fast) a lot more enjoyable. Plus, I want to remove tongue weight from the equation.

With regards to the brand separation, I was thinking the same thing. You’ve already tested the DD8 waters with a seemingly positive response. DD8 on the Force and DX3’s and DD13 on the XL...sounds logical to me.

We would not do a tandem for the 112. We would only for a tandem for the Cascadia. So for this exercise, stretching it is out, tandem is out. Once the Cascadia is ready, then we will look at other floor plans that make sense for a tandem, including a bath and a half.

Suggestion, offer an optional wall length couch with tables in front instead of the dinette/couch.

Oh and a ceiling tv that drops down in front of the wall sofa.

Bath and a Half Bunk House on Dynaquest XL

Interesting, I remember the discussion at the tech meeting.
**I do like the dual bedside tables (Pretty important to me)
**Why not a larger over cab mattress? Do we need cubbies on both sides? We bought our Isata 5 35 DB because the overhead bunk fit a 6'4" person and this is hard to find. The Isata's over head bunk is 50x80; the one you are currently proposing is considerably smaller and could possibly be extended w/o 1 cubby.
**When slides are in, you need easy access to bedroom in back, middle and back baths. The middle bath opens opposite from ours. This may block access.
**Love induction cook top- would love to make it removable for cooking outside.
**Also since I enjoy outside cooking, judging from popularity of outdoor kitchens I am not alone, could their be a second GFI on the awning side.
**Are the awnings over the slide out toppers? Have those issues been resolved?

Just ideas and thanks for being so receptive to feedback!
Linda

1. dual night stands should be standard on just about everything we build going forward.
2. The cab over is about the same. I think it ends up being 58x78-ish. We try and make it so queen sheets will fit.
3. There is no way to get "easy access" to the back bathroom. Nor is there on the RB currently and that has not been a concern. Middle bath will be accessible. Might be able to do a sliding door instead.
4. There is nothing over anything right now...plan is to dial in the floor plan, then work out the details.

That's a good idea. Maybe deposits, get guaranteed suggestion integration.

The RB has a longer wheelbase. I’m assuming they’d mirror that in this floor plan. Still some tail to swing, but not as much as building this on the shorter, more common 268” wheelbase.

Very eager to hear if the DD13 is a possibility here. If so, this would be a good rig for our family as we wait on the Cascadia.
