Body work at the factory?
We were hit by a deer a few months ago, fortunately just the front driver fender and area around it was damaged.
We took it to our dealer (Lazy Days Tampa) for repair of the damage and some other warranty work. Turns out they now say they can’t do the paint like the factory.
Anyone have experience getting paint and body work done?
Brian - can the factory do body repairs?
Our insurance company says they don’t recommend repair shops.

My understanding is that FR will not do insurance claims, but a good auto body shop should be able to match the paint.

Can't remember who, but someone on here has a body shop and they did a great job fixing damage and matching the paint, I think on his own rig? Was it Halla? There are a couple of threads about body damage and painting.

We have not been doing insurance work, mainly due to time. Our focus has been on helping assist warranty items, especially when dealers are way out or the work is too complex for the dealer.

Orangecrush is correct, the only thing I can paint is the undercarriage where no one can see it.

I was in Auto body for 32 yrs and there are plenty of shops that can do the paint but the biggest problem is being able to get the rig in the shop

You need to look for a truck body shop that does fiberglass.
Yes most shops can do the paint but have a height restriction for large vehicles
Mark (Orangecrush) would be "best bet" of known good body shops in Southeastern US.
Just my 2 pennies worth.

Who at Tampa said they can’t match the paint. My left quarter panel was “attacked” by my house and Lazydays body shop estimated assured me it could be repaired and look like new! It’s about a2ft crack in the fiberglass and will cost low five figures to repair, mostly labor because oh the paint! One of us is being BS’d...L

The service writer told my wife they couldn’t do the paint.
Fortunately all the damage is on the cab, no fiberglass, all Ram parts.
