brake controller harness DX3??

Some freightliner forums say the harness is under the dash, some say it is under the cab drivers side. I bought the DirecLink brake controller that uses the interior brake control harness. Has anyone had luck finding it behind the dash. The second pic is the harness that is under the cab.

Second pic is your harness. Need to feed it through the firewall. I used one of the knockouts in the plastic are where the air lines are run.

Thank you! I'll leave it all apart to run the wires and wire in Direclink. Also replacing the cigarette lighter with a wired in dual usb charger.

You should enough loom to run it under the cab, through two harness holders and then into the firewall.

DirecLink is the controller I bought. Their wiring harness wants:
Black = 12V
Red = Brake switch
White = Ground
Blue = Trailer brakes

Your controller should have instructions which tell you which signal goes to which wires.

I would highly suggest getting a multi meter and testing the harness in the truck for ground, 12V, brake (you'll see 12V when pressing the brake) and the last can be assumed to go to the trailer.

I posted the controllers requirements above, I was just hoping that you guys remembered what the Freightliners wiring decode was. I'll just check them with the multimeter. I had it out today replacing the cigarette lighter with a dual usb charger.

Ha didn't realize that was you ... I'm losing it

Iirc red was brake and blue went to the trailer which leaves white and orange for power, but I'd definitely verify yourself

Thanks, I'll give it a check. The DirecLink is quite expensive so it will be interesting if it that much nicer than standard brake controllers.
