Car seats in Dynamax

Hi everyone, first time posting here, though I've already learned so much from all of you reading through many threads. We currently have a small travel trailer, but we are looking at a Force 37BH or Force HD 37BH to be able to travel more and farther. We have two small boys, one in a car seat and one in a 5 point harness booster seat. Does anybody have experience using car seats in their Dynamax? Did you do any mods like adding anchor points anywhere, or additional seatbelts? I've read plenty of threads about the pros and cons of car seats in motor homes, so I'm not really looking for a discussion about should you or shouldn't you, but more interested in hearing from people that have successfully.

Thank you so much!

Chad

I thought when we ordered our Force there was an option for a tether on the dinette? It was a while ago, and I could be wrong. The other two love seats sit sideways, not sure how that would work with car seat.

Thanks Halla, I'll ask about that. Thanks for sharing so much about your force, I've enjoyed learning about them through your posts. Outside of car seat anchors, anything else I should pay particular attention to in the force 37bh or things you wished you knew about it before purchasing?

I wished the Force came out sooner, would have saved me from buying a Thor first. Just let me know if you habe any questions. PM if you wish. I think you could add a tether pretty easy if it isnt an option.

I can let you know in a couple weeks.
I have two, under 4.
I assume, I will be bolting tethers to the floor, under the dinette

Ah yes... I'll have to figure something out!
The slide does look quite high.
Much higher than most slides. There may be room.

Often asked question. At my former division we did the head tethers, but people complained with the cushion you could never get them tight anyway. I think its more of a "perception" thing. I've got (4) kids 10 through 22 and maybe the head tethers came after...or we just never used them.

No RV that I know of does the latch system. You just use the seatbelt to anchor the car seat. For a while, I know car makers told people to STOP using the latch system. When the testing was done, it was for "old school" car seats. The new ones transform from stroller, to car seat to hover craft as they get older and the auto makers did not anticipate kids being in car seats until they were 12, nor that the seats them selves would get to be 80 lbs. So they said the safest installation was using the seatbelts and not the latch/anchor systems which were not really tested for all the new car seats.

I think the seat must be foreward facing for it to be legal...may vary with state law
