Central Vac Install: Dynamax 37TS + other mods while I was at it

Well I got the Dirt Devil central vac install completed this morning...thanks to having one of the winning tickets at the rally and a donation to the raffle by RV UpgradeStore.

At first I was going locate the unit in the space below the washer/dryer cabinet, but decided that there was enough room in there to add a sorely needed drawer for our (wife's and daughter's) shoes. However, I did locate the outlet for it on the back wall in there.

I did this by adding the outlet you see to the run for the outlet by the bathroom area sink. I ran the wire in the bottom side of the outlet vs the top like you see in order to give me some additional slack.

I decided to locate the dust pan the only real place it could be--under the bathroom area drawers. The wall outlet was located under the refrigerator. There was enough flexible tubing for both. I did end up buying two 90-degree sweep elbows and a couple feet of low voltage wire. I mounted the unit under the sink. I used bolts instead of the screws so we wouldn't find it laying inside the cabinet at some point.

The Y adapter came with it plus a 90-degree elbow which was too tight for what I needed.

Pretty happy with the way it turned out.

While I was in both cabinet areas I notice that the washer shut-off valves were loose. The one strap was off and had slid all the way to the floor. The other one was very loose. The wood had split and screws weren't holding.

There wasn't any room to correct it from the other side so I made a new bracket out of wood, ran zip ties through it.

Under the washer/dryer cabinet I moved the water pump to allow for more room to inspect and/or remove the screen filter. This also allowed me to add the accumulator tank that was on my list of to-do's. I also added wire loom to the ends of the harnesses for the gas detector and water pump and secured them to the floor. Now nothing will get caught or rub on the drawer when I add it.

Nice work. That was a really nice donated gift. RV Upgradestore donated over $1000 worth of items.

Thanks Aaron. I'm definitely going to go to RVUpgradeStore.com when I need something in the future. I'll post some additional pictures after I have the drawer added.

Nice work Andy. I know where I’m coming when I need to do some more mods myself.

If you don’t mind me asking, why did you add the accumulator tank? Is it a worthwhile add on? What prompted you to add it?

I need to added that the whole house vacuum that I ordered for our Prime Time was a supreme waste of money! Every time there was a minor spill or dirt brought in, it meant uncoiling the 25' hose for a nickle/dime job. It took longer to pull it out and put it back than it took to do the vacuuming! Also, ours does not have a power brush head, which does not do squat. Bought a Hoover cordless stick with a power brush. Way better cleaning and easier to use

Thanks Dennis. Come on over. I'll help you with wood work if you help me with lights!

I had one in my Seneca and like it. 1) It holds a bit of water so the pump doesn't run every time the water is run even just a little. This is nice--especially during the night. 2) It quiets the pump a little. 3) It gives you more consistent water pressure.

Drawer is Installed

Got the drawer installed. Now I'm just waiting on the handle and drawer front to come in.

The drawer front came in last week while we were in FL. Put it on tonight to finish up the project. My thanks go out to BClemens for referring me to Native Hardwoods. Click image for larger version

Didn't have to move the water pump. The drawer slides in/out above it. There's over 12" of space between the sub floor and the top of the opening. The top of the water pump is at about 5" which works perfect for the 7" deep drawer.
