That's for 120V AC. Thought we were talking about battery charging.

Don't you need 120 to charge your batts?

If you're using a battery charger that's powered by 120vac then yes. However; you need to have a means of detecting whether the batts are actually being charged and therefore you need, as a minimum a 12vdc volt meter (monitor) connected directly to the batts or at least wiring (awning switch power etc.) that does. Monitoring the AC volts is useless in this regard.

I think all of that is built in on a Dynamax?

You are correct Casey, in fact with the solar option we have two monitors. Bubbles has a Georgetown, we need to convince him to buy a Dynamax!

I said Casey was correct. All I said was his monitoring of the AC volts is useless for anyone wanting to know battery condition. Charging or otherwise. My GT does require AC volts when wanting to charge the battery via the converter but I don't monitor the AC incoming volts. I do have a voltmeter built in to check battery charging status. Disregard solar and tell me how you would accomplish charging the coach batteries without AC power and engine not running for either an internal or external charger. Just don't know why someone would throw in AC volt meters when discussing battery charging. Buy a Dynamax? Ain't gonna happen.

It's just that if I were to buy a diesel it would be a Liberty Coach Elegant Lady and since I can't afford one, what would be the point in investing in something I have no interest in. If you wanted a Bentley/Rolls would you settle for a Smart car and be satisfied?

If you have no interest in a Dynamax product why are you following this thread?

Trying to expand my knowledge. I only may comment on threads that are not peculiar to Dynamax as I would have no idea only threads that are about common installations across the RV industry. But in actuality, I follow sometimes to gain knowledge that might come in handy to assist a fellow camper out in the field when there are issues for him. I have been able to even help Dynamax owners at a few locations, go figure. I know I am grateful for assistance from an individual that is more knowledgeable than I am when I'm in that boat. Maybe someone that's not a Dynamax owner will come to your aid someday and assist in resolving an issue you're having.

Casey, have you purchased one of these? I like the digital display. I have a plug in analog meter that I use to monitor the coach AC (to ensure no damage to the air conditioners or inverter/charger) but it takes more than a glance to read. I may get one for each end of the coach. Thanks for sharing!

No I haven't bought one but thought it could be used in a few scenarios to let me know what I'm getting at the end point on Gen, Shore and Inverter. Here's question. Why doesn't our Magnum controller auto sense 30 amp or 50 amp from shore power for example and change the setting automatically? I don't know how many times I've plugged into 50 amp shore power and then looking at the controller it's on 30 amp and I have to change it manually to 50amp. Am I doing something wrong or does it work manually only?

That's weird Casey, to my knowledge mine has always changed by itself back to 50 amp. I'll check it out this weekend and let you know.

These links explain the operation of the battery control center (BCC) or battery isolation manager (BIM), depending on whose technology you look at. FR does use Precision Circuits in at least some models. Some downloads are available.

Speaking of battery cut off, my GT has one , but the light on the switch is on. I can push the switch and the light does not change. Is this right? How do I know if the batter disconnect is working if the light never changes? Me and electricity have never gotten along
