Compartment door weatherstrip

Here is an issue with my 2017 Isata 5 compartment door weather stripping. Recently noticed rust along the bottom rail of the weather strip on the wet bay and the fresh water bay. These compartments are occasionally wet from the outside sprayer or when changing water filters which caused rust to develop on both the compartment door edge and the weather strip. The compression metal tab that holds the strip to the compartment edge is completely rusted away.
Can someone (maybe BClemens) let me know if there is a replacement for the strip that uses either stainless or aluminum compression tab...???

Other Isata owners may want to check their compartments as it is hard to see the rust damage without moving the strip.

I know we have updated our door seals, but not sure the attachment has changed, just the profile.

I know many on here swear by POR-15??? Maybe some day the midwest will stop salting the roads.

Here's what I did to fix without replacing the door seal.
1. Pulled the seal(s) partially away to get at the rusted metal grip tabs of the seal.
2. Removed what was left of the rusted metal grip tabs with a screwdriver blade up to where the metal was still unrusted.
3. Sand papered the compartment door edges and cleaned.
4. Applied "Ospho" a rust inhibitor to the cleaned and prepped metal edges.
5. Applied thick bead of 3M weather-strip sealant (black) to the length of the seal where the metal grip tabs had rusted away.
6. Reattached the seals to the compartment edges.

The repair took about 45 minutes to complete.
Like the soup Nazi said on Seinfeld....."NEXT" !!

um. They use salt out here also (Washington state)

Correct. POR 15 will do the trick. Just follow directions completely. More than likely you'll need to replace that seal. Once seal is replaced, put a small bead of Masterweld 620 around the lip of the seal and water "will not" enter the seal as shown in your picture. Least that's my experience.
