Corner Weighing - Denver Area

If anyone is interested in getting the corner weight of each axle measured, there is a company doing that for $60 on May 10-11 at Pikes Peak Traveland in Colorado Springs. Their number is 719-596-2716 to make a reservation. I'm signing up.

RV Safety is also doing weighing in a bunch of different places around the US this summer. Go to their website RVsafety.com and there is a schedule of locations and dates.

This is when you weigh each corner (axle) of the rig separately. An example is on some earlier Monaco's the drivers side front axle/tire was carrying much more empty weight then the other, so you had to pay attention to how you loaded the front cargo to keep from overloading that tire.

You load the vehicle with water and gear like it would be on a normal trip. You then weigh the wheel(s) on each side of each axle to see how much weight is on each corner. Based on this weight you consult your tire manufacturers inflation chart to ensure the tires are inflated properly for the weight they are carrying. This ensures they are not under inflated which could cause a tire to fail. And allows you to not over inflate the tires which can impact ride quality and handling.

If it is "empty weight"...

Wouldn't that be lighter than loaded weight?
