DEF Fluid-Dynamax
I was wondering on where everyone buys their DEF. I know the truck stops have it, but it is too expensive. Two years ago I bought it in a 55 gallon drum, way easier to pump it in etc... but I couldnt use the whole drum before it went bad.
So I looked at Walmart, it is $12-14 for a 2.5 gallon box.
I just found it at Tractor Supply for $19.00 for a 5 gallon container. Has anyone used the TSC DEF? or anyother suggestions?
Thank you

BluDEF is $12.47. They also sell a 12 pack of BluDEF gallons for $139.
I use the BluDEF just because I like name brands, it’s all personal opinion.

I always carry a box or two of BluDEF and cycle them through the coach or my Ram before it expires, but it's just for emergencies. I almost always refill using the bulk DEF at the truck stops.

BlueDef at Walmart is around $12 for a 2.5 gallon container. Their "generic" brand, called Tech - something, is about $7.50 for a 2.5 gallon container.
Tractor Supply will have BlueDef on sale once in a while for around $11. They are usually at $15 or $16 for a 2.5 gallon.
I don't find it too terribly expensive in bulk at truck stops, but with Silverado's fill spout up under the hood, passenger side, most of the hoses at truck stops are too short to allow me to fill easily while I'm getting diesel.

define way too expensive? DEF at the truck stops is always between 3 and 4 dollars a gallon. Everything I see here is more that that with the bonus of not creating plastic garbage every 100 gal of diesel

DEF at the pump of my local Flying J is $2.95/gal, that's $7.38 for 2.5 gallons and no plastic waste.
SuperTech DEF @ Walmart is $7.88 for a 2.5 gallon jug and you have plastic waste/recycling.
So not sure how DEF at the pump is the "expensive" option?
As far as brands go, brand doesn't matter as long as the DEF is API certified. The freshest, cheapest, API-certified DEF is the way to go. That's going to be had from DEF pumps at truck stops. Next best is going to be SuperTech DEF from Walmart.

Get at high volume truck stops like flying j, etc. Avoid the lower volume places just to keep issues at a minimum.
In a pinch I'll get blue def in a box.
Much simpler at the pump and never carrying a partial box.

Wait until they pull a DEF tank out of a turtles nose....then you'll only be able to get them in paper jugs.

If people just Recycle the DEF jug or a water bottle no problem. At the Goshen Rally I have to collect my recycling and go to a local church as the Fairgrounds does not recycle. So backwards way to look after things IMHO. One Earth.

I don't worry about such things, but I disagree that a truck stop HAS to have the freshest DEF. If you use 2 gallons a year or 2 million gallons a year, someone can over purchase or not FIFO it, and suddenly it's old. Gas stations just have much larger jugs (assuming IBC tote, but am just guessing).
If course, if a gas station gets a bad batch or old jug or whatever.... Their butt will be in the line in "liability" eventually. It's certainly not in their best interest.....
I feel bad DEF is an internet bigger-than-reality thing. Just MHO....

Not to go off on a tangent, but even recyclers are being overloaded with plastics. China has severely reduced how much used plastic they will take from us and they were the primary consumers of recyclable plastic. Now that demand for recyclable plastic is in the tank the recycling companies are being overrun with plastics that they can’t do anything with and they are having to resort to sending it to landfills or burning it if they can’t store it or find takers domestically. It’s still cheaper to make new plastic than to recycle it and with how many plastic products people purchase it’s becoming almost impossible to overcome. Microplastics are becoming a huge problem in the environment as well.
Not trying to come across as a tree hugger or anything, but plastic recycling is a joke currently. We really need to reduce our consumption of products that come in single-use plastic containers since recycling isn’t working.
If possible, fill up with DEF at the pump instead of buying it in plastic jugs.

The problem with Flying J is the price of diesel, 30 or more cents per gallon above others in same area.
