Dump valve clamp?

What is the clamp used for. Between my 3 inch valve and the tank? Is there a slip fitting to gain room for easier changing of the valve? thanks leonard

What is the "stuff" around the clamp? Perhaps some kind of sealer or epoxy?

If there is a crack or leak at this point perhaps someone applied some kind of sealer and reinforced it with a clamp.

That looks like where the nozzle on the tank slips over the piping and is secured with the clamp.

Can you back off just a little and take another picture?

Take off clamp and see. Dont know why its there and or whats with the sealant around it.

Those are the tank nozzles. The pipe gets coated with sealant and slid into them. The clamp is put on there to help hold the piping in place and seal the connection. Since the sealant isn't glue (solvent cement) the pipe could slide out or leak over time.

I noticed the same thing on my 2018 trailer. It must be a new assembly method that can be repaired.

My 2010 trailer had valve fittings that were glued on and were not reparable.

I could not figure out how the tanks could be removed on my 2018 so guessing they have to be repairable in place.

Looks to me like the clamps are just holding some sort of protective shroud in place (glued) that perhaps provides protection for the tanks or just cosmetic in nature. Nothing to do with plumbing. Just a guess.
