DX3 Body style change?

I've seen some pictures of the 2016 DX3, it doesn't seem to have the slight curve to the exterior like the previous years. Am I hallucinating again or did they change that?

It did change. Allows us to do more things and have more window options. Not many Mfg's make curved Windows. Also there is more room inside. You'd be surprised how that little curve closes into interior.

Makes the interior cabinets bigger too, huge advantage.

Makes sense. I liked the look of it from the outside, but I'm sure if I was actually living in one I would prefer the extra room.

We looked at them when they were curved and straight. Prefer the straightened sides.

After a plant tour this week it obvious the straight walls are easier to make.. thus less $$. Yes, it provides more space not really sure how much, but a lot more work goes into the curve, i.e exterior walls entry door, slides, interior walls, and so on. I would think that the curved walls will remain popoular despite the changes..

Now, dont get me wrong... the straight walls are beautiful and put together nicely... but, I'm gonna say it may have a little to do with saving a few $$ in building. I noticed the steel storage bins are no longer steel but now a different material. Weight saving issue? Maybe, maybe $$ savings..

Regardless these appear to be nice coaches... we're excited about taking ours home soon.

Steel is actually cheaper than the roto-cast boxes we use. Steel can be bent to whatever box you want, but you're limited to pretty much "square".

The plastic boxes need molds and tooling, but they let you shape them however you want which gains exterior storage. They also won't rust.

Rust! Keyword... I plan on painting them with a good rust inhibitor inside and line with all weather carpet once I make sure no water intrusion is apparent. A good undercoating on exterior may be a good idea as well.. you just made more work for me.. lol
