DX3 Cat Door Options

Must travel with cat but want to figure out place for litter box.

Was thinking about cutting a cat door on the side panel on the first interior step. Goal would be to create a tunnel for cat to crawl 6 inches (?) to first storage bay where litter box would be kept. This would get litter box out of living area and make cleaning it more sanitary task.

Question: does anyone know if there is any structural obstacles behind that side panel that prevents this mod?

I recently toured a DX3 RB but did not crawl underneath to investigate this potential idea. Be interested in ideas on how others have solved this problem too.

For Factory: Be interesting to see it offered as an option....simple construction but could further set your product apart.

I believe we cut a hole in the floor for someone else's cat in the rear compartment. I think it might be easier to have one of those litter boxes with the lid...more cost effective too.
