Finished my seat cushion fix as demonstrated by ablarson. Now I don't sink to the floor when I sit down while maintaining comfort. I chose to shorten the rod that locks the height and used a dremel to cut in a new slot at a height that we liked. I just welded the rod back together and everything works just as designed from the factory but to a comfortable height.
