DX3 fuel capacity?

I was always under the assumption that the DX3 (at least my 2018) has two 30 gallon fuel tanks.

I just happened to look up on Dynamax's website and it says 100 gallon fuel capacity.

Anyone verify?

Thanks,

Mark

Yes, we have two 50 gallon fuel tanks. My gauge is a little off though, when it is reading slightly less than a quarter of a tank I still have 35 gallons left.

Well that sucks... that just means my gas mileage is almost half of what I thought it was...

Just out of curiosity, what kind of mileage are y’all getting?

8.2 to 8.7 depending on which mode I use, Econo or Performance

Yup 100 gal total but after some tinkering I’m convinced it’s closer to 90 gal useable with the air gap built in by the fill positioning (sorry Brian not looking to get the advertising nazis after you on this). In reality though best bet is to calculate mileage on fillup. Problem is the DEF pump always resets the pump and I forget to note it. Scan gauge makes it much simpler to track.

That said I’m about 8mpg at 70 mph towing or not. Drops to 7 at 75 or I’ve seen it as high as 10 when. Only doing 55-60 not towing.

Econo or performance? I read that but when I tried to actually turn it on, it didn't work (like I've never heard that before)

What! Fuel capacity is not part of miles per gallon equation.

Yes, the Allison gear has two modes of operation, Performance and Econo
Mine, when you start up it defaults to the performance mode, to switch to the econo mode, push the mode button and you are now in Econo.
Here is a good article to read.

Actually it is... kinda. When I would check my miles and look down and see I used half a tank of gas, I would divide the miles by 30 gallons (I was assuming that was half) Now, keep in mind, I was just doing this in my head for shits and giggles to see ballpark where I was... obviously I would divide the miles by the gallons it took to fill, I was just trying to see how accurate the gauge was. CLEARLY NOT...LOL

At the end of the day, I would do it correctly but I just like to see how many miles I could get when the needle got to half tank.
