DX3 wet compartments

All the outside compartments get wet when traveling in the rain. There are large holes where rails go through the side at the top. Open to outside spray. Open rear fenders wells throw spray all over generator and slide mechanism. Does anyone have a solution.

polypropylene.... not fiberglass. I agree the generator is subject to more of the elements than it should be.

Sounds like new compartment door seals are in order or a latch adjustment. We have run a few different type of door seal. A round bulb seal, or a sort of "U-shape" seal that creates a gutter for water over the top. If the door is adjusted properly, either works...but I think the round bulb seal might be the most forgiving.

I spent some time caulking the compartments where they are attached to the outside steel. It stopped some of the spray during heavy rains while driving and a lot of dust.

The moisture is not coming from the doors. It is coming from spray from rear wheel well and open battery and generato compartments, traveling down rail that runs length of compartments and then down rails for slides that open into the top of compartments. You can physically put your hand through the hole into the battery compartment. If you look up in all the compartments you can see the exposure to the elements. Already had to change zantrex because it got wet when we left dealership after buying it. Drivers side worse than passenger. I don't know how it can be fixed.

Expanding foam would take care of that as long as it doesn't interfere with a slide ram moving in and out. In that case, a rubber flap cut snuggly to the opening.
