Dynamax 5 camera monitor on mirror

I found the monitor on the mirror to be unsatisfactory.
I could not see the side view or back up clearly due to glare.
I had a new module installed and switched all images to the center console screen that is used for radio and navigation.
Great images for turning and back up. Also, can activate the rear camera while driving to look at tow vehicle or trailer.
Has anyone else had this problem. Will gladly pass on info.

I'd love to have the information. We just picked up our 30FW this week and agree, the camera is too dark to be useful. I was going to search through the argumentation to see if the picture quality can be adjusted. If not, we'll also probably end up replacing it.
Thanks!

The new module is called:
NAV-TV UCT Interface and SVS6 Switcher both from Dodge Uconnect.
Also a RV camera Switcher from Riverpark that changed the plastic module plugs to the RCA jacks.

Had it done by a local Phoenix Tech that installs for several dealers in town.
Hopes this helps.

rearview camera

Thanks for the info. I have the same problem on my 4 week old I5. I always wondered why they didn't put the images on the dashboard screen.

I have a Coachmen Prism 2200LE and the camera and monitor (i.e., video screen) are terrible. The screen is totally washed out during the day and impossible to see anything; the radio and everything else that is available on the screen can't be seen. . The camera went blitz and all are under warranty but I wanted to upgrade to something that was visible and more user friendly. Warranty says no and only sending the parts. Anyone have a similar issue or upgraded in a situation like this? The whole thing is on the dash of my Sprinter and is not an OEM from Mercedes.

I have my I5 for a month also.
Where are you located?
I am in Phoenix and have not had the maiden voyage yet.
This thing pulls like a mule.

We picked up our 30FW last week in Elkhart and started our maiden voyage on the 26th. A few camping hiccups but so far, so good. Feeling really confident we made the right choice with a Dynamax. Drives like a dream down the road!

Did you then remove the unit on the mirror so you can monitor the coach interior with the Ram stock mirror? Also when moving the readout to the UConnect did you loose any of UConnect’s original functionality?

Damned if we do, damned if we don't. The Uconnect screen is nice and designed for such things, but many people want to watch the tow vehicle and Nav at the same time.

The better question is...can we find a better screen to mount to the mirror monitor.

Yes, the clip on monitor was removed and the wire also.
Left the original mirror in the cab.
I have not seen any difference in the features of the uconnect.
The turn signals activate the image from each camera and also in reverse.
It also has a feature that allows you to activate the rear camera while towing if you desire to see how the tow vehicle is doing and if it is still there.
The camera monitor takes over when activated and returns when finished.
Hope that helps.

It would be beneficial to keep both. The mirror monitor is just not clear/bright enough. Let us know if you find a better replacement.

Apparently it works just like my car system except it adds a camera function when the turn signals activate. It sounds perfect! Are you sure there are no downsides? Brian, you could incorporate this and save money on the extra screen and wires... a better mouse trap?!😎

I really like the mirror option. One reason is that I like to monitor the TOAD so the rear camera stays on the whole time. I also added the option to make the blinker cameras on demand.

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...as-157065.html

The head unit in the Dodge controls many functions and includes the NAV. I like the nav up front and center as well as my radio controls. That huge screen flickering when you change lanes would get aggravating. Like Brian said, cant please em all. I am happy for the mirror cam option.
