fender mirrors
I don't like the way the side cameras function especially the passenger side. First, there is a delay, but for depth perception, I prefer the rear mirror to see if my toad is safely clear of other vehicles. I have noticed that many new commercial trucks have forward fender mounted mirrors so they can check down the side w/o taking their eyes off the road. Has anyone mounted one on their Ram, if so would you please provide product details?
Thank you

My side mirrors have convex mirrors at the bottom that work great for this. I also think the side view cameras are less than ideal. For me it's more of a distraction to look at the rear view mirror, and the delay is irritating.

Unfortunately the delay is "code" mandated. there has to be a delay when going from rear view image to different view. I never really dug into why, but is a DOT thing ...

I, personally, have not done anything, but I like the idea. I found these pictures with a google search.....

That's old style. I remember my pop having those on his truck in the late 70s.

Agreed. I'd love to implement something a tad more "modern", but I think most of those are going to be model specific and not as "universal". Something like this unit for a Freightliner Cascadia would be neat, but the Freightliner is going to have a TON of real estate up front to mount this to....a Ram 5500? No so much.
