Freightliner Extended Warranty

Per my research the original Freightliner warranty is for two years. Which on my coach expires next month. I also believe that the warranty on my Cummins engine is good for 5 years or 100,000 miles. I am not really interested in a warranty for the RV part of the rig cuz I fix most things myself. However having an extended warranty on the Freightliner chassis is something I would consider. That being said has anyone obtained an extended Freightliner Warranty on their motorhome? Anything good or bad? Cost?

I just called Freightliner local dealer. They are going to check.

They also said that the basic warranty is 24 months from date in service
unlimited miles. with towing up to 550.00

I will be discussing the extended warranty issue for the chassis only (which BTW is all that Freightliner will deal with) extended warranty with the warranty guru tomorrow.

It was stated that extended warranty is usually sold at time of initial purchase but I don't recall that being an option.

End result ---- jury is out at this time until further notice will keep you all informed of what I find out.

That's all a Freightliner thing.

I will say, when I asked about contact info, I got this...

"Brian,
ALL Freightliner warranty issues need to be addressed at an authorized Freightliner repair center.
· https://freightliner.com then Dealers for the locator.
· Freightliner Dealers
· Travelcenters of America
· Petro Stopping Centers LP
For customer assistance the customer should call 800-FTL-HELP 1-800-385-4357 option 2.
We, Truck Centers, Inc. are always willing to talk to the customer if needed"

Finally had a chance to work on this again.

Sorry for delay

I spoke with Freightliner NW Pacific rep and an extended warranty is available up to 5 years.
So 2year basic + 3 year extension
This does vary in miles.

What one needs to do.

1. Make sure your chassis is registered with freightliner. Very important!
2. Contact your local Freightliner dealer and talk with service or sales rep about extending the chassis warranty.
There are multiple options Kind of like a catalog of options to choose from. Check what you want and obtain quote.

BTW. Best to do this inside 90 days of purchase in order to avoid penalties. After 1 year they most likely will not extend.

Happy camping

The quote looks pretty reasonable considering what they charge for service.

I will be calling them on Monday to see what I can do about extending

Thanks for the info

The extended RV warranty doesn’t cover the chassis does it. I might be interested in a few of the warranty items but not the full boat.

So just got my warranty info from Freightliner and here is good and the bad.

1. You can get the Cummins 5yr/100,000 as long as you have not passed a

one year in service. (the good)

2. You CAN NOT get the Freightliner 5yr/100,000 if you have passed the 6

month in service. ( the bad)

They told me that the RV dealer should have told me that. I don't recall

that ever being part of any conversation that I had with them.

So I guess I will have to wait until Dynamax builds something that I can

upgrade to like BH model with more kitchen counter space and a bath

and a half. Come on bclemens , build something bigger so we can trade

up!
