Great idea! I use these on my tent guy lines so have a bunch laying around. Never even thought about these.

Ours did this as well, slammed the door open with stuff flying everywhere. Pretty poor design on this, among a lot of other issues. Going to get a stronger cord, as I hate to use some strong velcro on the stainless fridge.
