Full disclosure of my stupidity.

Sometimes, things are too good at their job.

So, I was responsible for packing up all the dog stuff. Which I did, checked off my list. However when we arrive at the first stop, I cannot find the dog food or leash. I know I grabbed it, can remember that and vaguely remember thinking “ooh, that’s the perfect spot”. So I just accept that I screwed up and walk the dog with a 10’ USB cable. Then I change over to the shoulder strap from a duffle bag.

So this morning the wife says she will look. Goes out and inspects all the compartments. I come out to help and she’s like “did you put it in the step” (during the walk through I proudly show her that handy storage spot. She was unimpressed).

Of course it suddenly hits me, that’s is exactly where I put it and it blends in so well as a step, I completely forgot.

The only one upset, is the dog, who was eating eggs and bacon.

Hey, you're a very young person compared to us old f**ts. Wait'll you're my age, then you'll get to that stage where you walk into a room and have no clue why and you have to go back where you started to remember.

Last trip I forgot all my jackets...

Like Casey said, it just gets better as the miles on the odometer rack up!!

Maybe if you would stop answering messages for pesky customers and helping them get their coaches fixed up after 11:00pm you would be more rested and able to process better? BTW I've got an appointment in Spokane in early July. Thanks again!!

I forgot my hot dog compressor! Fortunately, we were just getting ready to hook the toad up and I told the DW to go back to the house and get it. We use tje parking lot of a ballfield close to our house, so she didn't have far to go. [emoji41]

Do I dare ask where you plugged that USB cable in?

Nice solution, we do make do with some interesting solutions when camping ⛺️ . I have used an M16 for a tent pole (Fort Riley KS) but wasn’t a very happy camper at the time.

"The only one upset, is the dog, who was eating eggs and bacon."

Was the dog REALLY that upset about having to eat eggs and bacon???? I know my dog would prefer it over her normal food. I might be upset that there was less bacon for me but I don't think she would be upset about it.

Plus a couple thousand on the OFS (Old Fart Syndrome) which sometimes is called CRS (Can't Remember $h!*).

Can't count the number of times this has happened to me, more lately. I now tend to write a lot of notes and leave them lying around to remind me of things I know I'm going to forget.

To prevent major disasters by forgetting critical items I have taken to duplication. One for the house and one for the trailer that never leaves the trailer.

I can take solace in the fact my memory is still good enough that I don't find myself shopping at Walmart in my T-Shirt and Boxers -------- yet anyway.

For all you youngsters that laugh at us old farts, don't worry. Everyone will get their turn.

I identify with this. We left yesterday for 4.5 months on the RV road. Forgot to pack hand soap.

M16 for a tent pole? I strung det cord between two engineer T posts in Vietnam to hand my hammock. Not a good idea. Not because it would detonate but because as soon as I plopped my butt in the hammock, the cord instantly cut and I found myself on the ground.

This is exactly why we leave the camping stuff in the RV. That way, we don't forget something (except maybe ourselves!).

My brother and I call it “some-timers”. We are not yet to “allz himers”.

I wish I had a dollar for each time my father had to turn around and go back because Mom could not remember turning something “off”. We may have been 10 to 15 miles away. I can't remember once when something was on.

It seems to be getting worse with my generation. We have actually left the stove on, nothing on the burner, and not “high”, but on. We have also had to call our daughter and asked she go close the garage door.

Can’t wait to get old and get really bad. Aging is not for wimps, but, it seems better than the alternative.

Good luck feeding the dog.

Remedies

So because I forget stuff when we leave in the RV, I will buy "extra stuff" when I visit the grocery store in the weeks before we leave. I will end up having five or six bottles of shampoo or six cans of shaving cream or eight bars of soap in the RV, after buying two here and three there, but forget the satellite dish or the pillows for the bed or worse...the phone charger!

I make lists but things sometimes change. We just figure mist things we can just get duplicates at Wal-Mart.

A common error is to bring clothing perfect for the weather at home but inadequate for where you're headed. I am wearing shorts in southern PA but that may not cut it on a cold morning in the UP of Michigan.

Old age is hell but it sure beats the alternative.

I figure the dog is unhappy because he found the dog food and doesn’t get to eat bacon for breakfast tomorrow.

WOW, hate to be on the same roads you folks are driving on. Dangerous.

I remember a time when I was going north on some hiway or other to someplace I don't remember but I was making great time, no traffic going my way but was it crowded going the other way. And all the drivers were really upset with each other cause they kept flashing their lights and flipping the bird to one another.
