I took it all apart last winter. Added to 12v fans to the bunks for circulation.

I have taken the upper bunk out and the U-channel. Just kept the back third as a shelf, and added a 7" mattress. Gives the lower bunk person (my son) more room.
My lower DVD player is not coming down.

At some point I would like to redesign that area. Lower bunk would become a jackknife sofa. Upper bunk would be hinged and/or removable. Large TV across from the sofa instead of individual DVD's. That way you can play games on that TV, watch the same movie, etc. That is how the 5 Series bunk is set up.

Maybe just one bigger window in the slide.
How about the interior wall. can that be shortened some, so that area
would be more open to the bunk or sofa?
What you have said so far, sounds like a winner..

We did two bigger windows already.
As for the wall...I think that is there for a plumbing drop from the kitchen.

So when I order our next unit, Brian (wink wink), you will add the under stairs shoe bin, the upgraded bunk units and the awning on the BH slide out? that would be the perfect Force HD,and it will have the black out option.

I mean the interior wall that is going aft towards the back bedroom. Can that wall be shortened.?
And I mean if top bunk is gone, just have one big window on that side
in maybe the middle of the space.

shoes is a probably. Bunks will be 2019 model year at best. Awning I haven't even looked at. But besides that, sounds perfect.
Not sure what you mean shortened wall...we did shorten the wall that runs perpendicular to the passenger side wall to make the opening to the bedroom bigger. As for the wall that runs parallel to the exterior wall, that one is the one that we drop plumbing below.
As for the window, I wouldn't want to get rid of the top bunk. We did compromise by making both bunk windows bigger. If you took the bunk out you could see out both windows pretty easily.

Well bust my bubble. The new BH all come with the USB port next to the tv's right? if so, I may be ok with that.
The awning would be a nice add, we would love to have a bigger section of the patio under the awning.

I think there is a USB port ON the DVD player now and for some reason we're adding one as well. I just leave that alone since I know when to pick my battles. Maybe the one on the DVD is just for data.
Awning we have talked about, but no one ever actually placed the order. So you can try.

I will give it a go. Then I plan on spending a few weeks at the factory while it is being built. This way I know where the "secret panels" are etc... will make it much easier to take apart and modify. Maybe I can work the 2nd shift and make my modifications at the factory? (Am I pushing it?)

this is the wall that I am talking about the part before where you see the bedroom door catch. It would really open up that space. Could it be done?

Took out the top removable bunk and the support brackets. Added a 7" mattress, now if I could just open up the space a little bit more.
and one big window in the center of that space too.
Brian:
Have you ever thought about having a custom shop for people who would like to change things up a bit?
I like the awning idea off the slide too?

As a bunkhouse owner would like to put my 2 cents in.....
Bigger windows-yes
USB ports-already have em, asked and I received
As far as what Brian mentioned, I took a hard look at the Isata 5 because of the bunk set-up with the couch,TV etc. Liked it. Now to have a DX3 with that set-up. YESS!!!!

Ah, I see. You could take that entire 2nd bunk panel out, just relocated the DVD player. If you pull the bottom paneling off that board, you will see screws going through the aluminum frame into the sidewalls. That would not cut that wall back...but I don't think we run anything in that wall.
We have a service shop that could make those changes...but we try to take in as much warranty work as possible since dealers seem to be backed up and we are left with no time for custom work. Maybe in the off season we would have more time to do stuff like that. Custom is surprisingly difficult to do on a factory floor. Change is harder than you can imagine.
