Mice

We live in the country which means lots of critters around looking for a warm place to live over the winter I throw dryer sheets in anything that is going to set idle for more than a day. In the camper, I put them in every drawer, on every shelf, scatter a few on the floor, lay some on the bed and dining seats and in the outside access storage area. They're cheap so you can't really put too many out. I also put them in the truck and under the hood. THEN, I scatter moth balls on the ground under the units. I don't have critter damage anywhere. Of course, the moth balls will 'melt' so you'll have to do that again.

I started with the dryer sheets up until I started finding them piled up and full of droppings! Mine were apparently unphased

Mine too. They built a nice smelling nest. We're in the country too so they are inevitable some places but I draw the line at the house and the motorhome. We use old fashioned snap traps put in a circle with cheese or peanut butter in the middle. DH removes the bodies and resets the traps. I throw out trap complete with corpse and set a new one.

Found the Entry Point!!

Well I thought I foamed everything shut and went out early this morning and there were mouse dropping again. I started up the engine to see if it would stir anything up and it did!! I saw the critter go down the slot where the driver's side seat belt retractor is!!
I pulled off the sill plate and boom, much to my surprise whoever ran the wiring harness through the OEM hole just pulled the grommet out ran the motorhome harness through and left it like that (see picture).
Of course I slit the grommet, inserted the motorhome harness and taped the grommet back up. Problem solved, but not after having mice dropping and what not all over the motorhome and I'm sure that's what cause my issue with the A/C unit blowing little pieces of foam!
Best we all inspect this and make sure it's corrected if done this way.

Two days since the fix and no signs of mice. Keeping my fingers crossed.

R.I.P.

Well I'm not sure if this one was trapped inside when I fixed the grommet issue or what, but we just held funeral services for the poop machine!
Two weeks setting glue boards...it was walking on them and leaving his "signature".
We'll 6 hours with a snap trap and PB and he's history!
