I just completed installation of an aftermarket 6-way power seat base on the Passenger Seat of our 2018 I5. I had looked at purchasing one from Ram, but would have to order each piece separately, too much trouble and too expensive. I also contacted several salvage yards and couldn't find one so I ordered a "universal" power base from shop4seats.com. This became a major project from the start. I first had to remove the Seat from the Manual adjuster. The Seat is attached with "torx" bolts assembled with red loctite. This required heating the nuts to break them loose. Once apart I realized that I would have to fabricate new brackets to attach the power base to the floorboard and used 3 inch wide steel stock, 1/4 inch thick, heated and formed to utilize the stock bolt holes. Once that was done I had to adapt the Seat mounting holes to the base utilizing three flat 2 inch wide pieces of steel stock attached across the bottom of the Seat since the width of the Seat mounting holes were 15.75 inches and the power base mounting holes were only 14 inches wide. Now we have a power Passenger seat and DW is happy! Link to power base and pictures attached.
