I received the recall notice today for my 2017 REV RB from Fiat Chrysler. This is to replace the Mopar trailer tow group lamp module. They want me to take it in right away. They state the module may have a software error.

The notice says if I have a ProMaster I should contact my Authorized BusinessLINK dealer and if I have a ProMaster City vehicle I should contact my Authorized BusinessLINK, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge or RAM dealer. I guess since they don't know what I have I am somehow supposed to know.

I don't see how this is critical if I am not towing.

Bobby

And, you don't have a mopar hitch. The recall fix consisted of them coming to our plant, looking at the unit to see that we did not buy the mopar hitch and leaving. They don't have a way to segregate, so they all get picked up. I'd call the first number.

UPDATE: I called the phone number provided in the recall notice and got a live person within 30 seconds. She was friendly and helpful. She called the most convenient dealer to me that can lift a motorhome which is Carman Dodge in Newark, DE. She explained the situation to them and stayed on the phone while I spoke with the Carman employee. He cleared the recall from my account so I will not receive any more notices and agreed it did not apply to my vehicle.

So he saved me a trip to the dealer and all of the hassle involved with that. He answered a couple of other questions I had such as can I get a key to unlock the cab doors (yes) and can my digital dash display be reprogramed to show the speedometer rather than today's date (maybe).

Overall it was a ten minute phone call and all is resolved regarding the errant recall.

Thanks Brian,

Bobby

Wanted to give an update on this thread.

A new controller was installed late last week, along with a clean-up of the open connections in this area.

Many thanks to the fine folks at Dylan's RV in Sewell N.J. for stepping up to get us back on the road quickly. There are some very good people working at this dealer.

Thanks also to Brian for paying attention here. We all benefit if this company continues to be successful.

Thanks again.

Just glad everything got taken care of.

We'll continue in our quest to keep it out of a service center in the first place. We're making headway.
