Isata 5 In Demand ??

While returning home from Va (in the car since RV is winterized) DW and I were talking about how nice it would be to have an RV with bunks now that there is a grandchild in our lives. So, on a whim, we pulled into a large RV dealer just off I 95 in Ashland, Virginia. We explained to the sales agent what we would like to have in the RV . I added that I was thinking the Isata 5 might fit the bill and if we could see one. The agent agreed but added that they just can't get any in stock since they are very popular and are on back order for about a year.
I have to admit I was a bit surprised. Is this really the case with the Isata 5 RVs
that you might have to wait a year if you order one?

That unfortunately is sort of the case. The Ram pick up has been widely popular and thus they have been shorting us on chassis. Add to that the popularity of the 30FW 4x4 that we offer...and yes, almost 100% of the units we are building are already sold before we built them. IF you are looking for a 4x2 bunk, it is not as long however as we have a couple of those chassis that are not retail sold.

Right now there are only 20 Isata 5's in the entire country in stock (in theory). Only two of those are the bunk model and it looks like both are at Motorhome specialist. And I think they might both be pre-sold.

I live about 3 hrs from Motorhome Specialist and regularly look at their inventory online to see if they have an Isata 5 to inspect. I have never seen one in stock that was not already sold. Unfortunately they will not let you tour any sold units, so yet to see one. I plan to go to the Hersey RV show this Fall and should be able to see one there.

We gave them an extra one that they were supposed to NOT sell, so they could show it for about 3 months. Not sure when that was however.

Well I just looked and they do have one 36DS on the lot, a rarity probably because it’s winter.

There are 36 Isata 5’s on order and 10 are already sold.

I would say it’s a pretty popular model. Definitely on my radar for an upgrade. You get the Cummins diesel without dropping another $100k for the Freightliner.

Glad we got ours when we did! I could not be happier! I've been thinking about charging admission every time we camp, everybody wants to see inside! Thank you BC for the great product!

We bought our Forester 3011DS in 2016. Although we have had a lot of fun with it, I wish we had known about the ISATA 5. The only time we saw one was at the 2016 International FROG Rally in Goshen. Nice to know they are in demand.
Thanks for the feedback

We purchased our 2018 Isata 5 36 DS from MHS and they gladly showed us a used unit that was just traded in and was commanding nearly the same price as a new unit. They also showed us a new sold unit when it arrived. We mistakenly thought that they had several on order and we were waiting for one to be delivered to purchase, when after 3 month, we discover the factory was only manufacturing units that were actually sold to a customer. Once we discovered this bit of information we immediately put a deposit down on one of the units that they had on order and it took another 4-5 months before it was delivered. The RAM Chassis is fantastic with great economy, power and torque when needed. We have only made 3 trips to date and are generally satisfied, as we discover and get rid of the initial minor gremlins that I assume are common with a new coach.

My wife and I had a similar experience, we couldn't find any new I5's anywhere to look at so we drove from Atlanta to Perry Iowa to see a 2wd 36DS trade in. Loved it so we ordered a new one with 4wd. The next day we drove to Elkhart as our dealer arranged a factory tour. That tour convinced me that we had made the right choice. It was worth the almost 6 month wait. Congratulations on yours JGB!

Interested in a almost new one with 3600miles? All options. Custom color. You can pick it up in Elkhart.
