Isata 5 Nav best price

For the Isata 5 guys that are interested in activating the nav in their unit, DO NOT pay the eye gouging dealer price of $600.00. I found it for $295.00 make sure you find the coupon code for the extra $10.00 off.

Thanks Scott

I was doing some research and I found that it's just an activation code allowing your existing hardware to decode the downlink signal from the GPS bird. But I never saw a price this low, thanks.

Easy to do and now you have Nav?

Yes it’s very easy to do and I have the nav now. You hold down three buttons in the climate panel and it will generate a code. You send that code to radio parts, pay them and in about 30 minutes they send the activation code.

This looks like it will work for the REV on the ProMaster chassis.

Can you set parameters for vehicle size and weight?

Thanks for posting.

It is not a "so called" RV gps that you can set parameters but the 5 and REV are not that tall. In addition I plan with RVtrip wizard which does allow you to set height/weight restrictions. I like the built in nav. The display is front and center, the audio is easy to hear, and you also get nav info on the gauge cluster.

Dummy me. I don’t have that radio or those controls as I am now looking at my dash.

I will dig into web site and see if they have a version for my radio.

Radio Nav

I could find no info about how current their data is or anything about future updates??
Does your user screen provide the version and date?

Thanks,
Marlin

Thanks

Checking mine, (2015 Promaster chassis) I would also need the 2017 gps update available only through Chrysler for an additional $150.00. Think I'll stay with my Garmin (free lifetime updates) and smart phone (WAZE) always updated, for the time being.
Uconnect has definite convenience advantages, but for me, I need to convince myself that it is worth the initial cost and the "pricey" ongoing updates.

I’ve never updated my many GPS’ over the years. Not in realestate so most all the time the machines will get me where I want to be. I have this same dash nav in my Jeep and it is a very good one, and easy to use. I like the ‘lane’ feature when I’m in an unfamiliar city trying to navigate a busy freeway.

Isata 5 Nav best price

Trying to fumble with the phone while driving or hearing the directions is a pain and not the safest thing to do. And As soon as my copilot heads to the back I need to figure out which way to go on some massive interchange. The co pilot GPS app on the iPad was a waste of $60.00. Really like the Uconnect setup.

You guys have me reconsidering my position. Your points definitely have merit, and nothing speaks louder than your personal experience with the system. After all it's still less than my insurance deductible. LOL
Thanks

I prefer in-dash. No wires to clutter the cockpit, nothing suction cupped to the windshield to block a view. As soon as I take delivery I hope the RAM Nav Activation Code company Scott found is still in business at that price. That's my vote. Mind you I will have a monitor for my TPMS, but Scott has a photo in another thread that shows that the TST TPMS is a small screen in the very corner of his windshield AND no wires.

I also wasted money on a few GPS apps. As mentioned having the GPS incorporated into the radio makes listening easier with less fumbling.

For me WAZE is the best in a car but it has led me onto roads that are not RV friendly when avoiding heavy traffic and road closures.

If only WAZE would offer a truck/ RV version.

Apple Play or Android Auto

Scott - Curious I think the new Uconnect systems from FCA are including Apple Play and Android Auto, nice feature to be able to basically mirror your phone screen on your Uconnect display system. I don't know if this is just a firmware upgrade or software upgrade that allows for this connectivity. I am guessing this software upgrade probably only upgraded the Uconnect software but did not add additional functionality?
