Isata 5 tow vehicle

Hello, any and all 5 owners, do you in all honestly feel that a 5 can tow four down a Ford F250 4x4 diesel, appx empty weight 7100, but I will have it loaded to appx 9000, maybe even 9200.

Can the 5 pull this without much wear and tear, or mountain passes with ease?

I really don't want to sell my truck, but I have a buyer on the hook and kind of want the Jeep as the toad, but my truck can do so much more.

Thoughts, and really if anyone does this with a Dodge or Chevy 2500.

Thanks

David mentions flat towing his Ram 2500. I’m sure he could give you some feedback.

I’m not a 5 owner but I think that is a lot of weight to be pulling around.

I tow a Jeep when loaded 5800-6000 lbs. no problem. You should be able to do mountain passes but at a slower rate. You will need a tow vehicle brake system. I use RVI3. Tow/haul mode along with full exhaust brake helps.

I solved that dilemma by downsizing my GMC Sierra 4x for a newer Canyon 4x. I retained passenger capacity and pickup versatility, flat tow capability, reduced the profile, and the weight. And the interior isn’t as worn!
