To me the capacitive just reacts the way I've grown used to using a touchscreen with phones and such. The Sony always seemed clunky on the touch screen.
FYI. The DDX9903S is being replaced by the 9904S, which I found out is exactly the same as the 9704S BUT has a high voltage pre-amp out (most likely for automotive add ons)

So you got what we are looking basically.

Sold. Will have a Kenwood ready to put in the HD when it comes home. I have been reading about the quality of the screen and I really loved the Carplay in the Force.

I went with the DDX9704S since I don't need the high voltage pre-amp out on the 9904S. I'm also adding the Kenwood dash cam.

I like to have the rear view camera display all the time while driving. So I guess in order to get the most out of Carplay I should get a separate monitor for the cameras? Otherwise it detracts for the Carplay feature, right?

Might wait until spring to install...It's BRRRR out right now.

I looked for a separate monitor. I found a thin long one that can show three cameras at once, considered mounting it to the left of the CB on that angled part.

That's exactly where I put my regular ol 7" monitor. Mounting didn't turn out great but if I can come up with a custom bracket at some point it'll be perfect. The cheapo Amazon bracket just didn't quite work

I ended up wiring the Kenwood to a wireless camera down on the hitch. Makes backing up to the trailer sooooo much easier

I have an external Garmin RVT GPS mounted on the dash. I have a backup camera that works on the Garmin screen, I have the camera mounted on the back of our enclosed trailer. Love cameras. LOL.

What resolution 7" monitor did you get? Not sure what the resolution of the camera is.
