It is approximately 1 inch square and a quarter inch thick. Another one fell out from under the slide today. It's a bit more chewed up than the first one.
Those are on the slim rack slide system. Pretty sure they are primarily for shipping and installation purposes...helps prevent the rack from rubbing on the slide room. I can't see anything on their installation info that says they should stay there.
