M2 Freightliner Question
Has anyone added door speakers to their Force or DX3? I have been wanting to and thought I would check to see if someone had already done it before I reinvent the wheel.

Would like to. I wanted to do fiberglass forms like Sport Chassis has, but so far I have not found a way to do it. I did try to get Sport Chassis to sell me door panels that I could cover etc..., they only sell to their own customers.

I recently bought one of the center consoles from build5fab. I didn’t research it enough, but I was hoping that there would be enough material on the sides to cut out holes to install speakers and speaker baffles. The lower openings extend almost to the back of the console, though. If I had it to do over, I’d probably ask him to make those openings much smaller. Seems like adding a couple of speakers down there would be nearly as effective (sound wise) as door speakers and much easier to install.

That is a good idea as well. I had kicked around adding speakers to the flat wood section above the drivers and passenger seat. A company called Retro Pod makes external speaker enclosers in different sizes. Would be easy enough to add wiring and speakers to those locations and wouldnt be noticeable. Still may go this route. Adding a component system with small tweeters in the upper door panels could be done as well, they have some external mount ones that are small.
Well it looks like this made it back onto my list for this year, thanks a lot guys. lol.

River Park has a system we're looking at for 2020 MY.
JBL full range/tweeter coaxial speakers, dual voice coil subwoofer, and a high-efficiency, high-performing 4-channel DSP amplifier, all “TUNED” by an Harman Acoustic Systems Engineer specifically for the Freightliner M2

To me, that would be perfect...especially if that sub enclosure would fit behind the build5fab (or similar) console.

The sub fits underneath the center console area. On the M2-106 it does not stick out at all. On the M2-112, that area is not quite as deep, so it sticks past the cub-holders about 2"-ish.

Even better...sounds like an easy retrofit into our coaches. A quick google didn't turn up any meaningful results...any ordering information you could pass along?

I have zero at this time. River Park showed the set to us...that's what I know so far.

Ok, that is fair.
Still felt like I was reaching my limit of mods. Spent my lunch today looking at speakers I could fit into the door to modify, let the fun begin.

I'm not sure who I would get in trouble with...they should know better than to tell me things if they don't want it out there
Dynamax does not sell direct, so it would have to be through your dealer. Once I get a part number for the kit I will pass it on here.

They are actually part of Freightliner, I'm sure you can buy the door panels from them...

They are privately held. Freightliner no longer has controlling interest as I recall, they were spun off over a decade ago. If I recall that correctly.

Just got off the phone with Sportchassis, the door panels are about a month away. Chris from Sportchassis also called to discuss M2 accessories or the lack of them. He wanted to know about the forum, hope he joins up to let us know about the progress. Dynamax might want to do business with these people, they seem to have some accessories for the M2. Hopefully they will be available to the public soon.
