More tire pressure questions
I decided to get Michelins for my Isata 25 FW and internal sensors.
Sensors work great.
Rear tire cold pressure is at 80psi according to my weight and Michelin tables this is correct.
After driving about an hour the pressures are around 91-93 psi in 88-90 degree temps, tire temps around 122-131 degrees
Is this normal? I have read that psi could go up 15%

Tire mgrs. compensate in their inflation tables for increased tire temps caused by normal use. That's why they state to inflate when cold, and "cold" means ambient temperature at time of inflation, i.e., 30 degrees or 90 degrees. Now, if the tire is old, or running over rated speed, usually 65mph, or underinflated, normality goes out the window. Bottom line is you're seeing normal temp rise. If you start seeing +150, you need to stop and find out what's going on, especially if it's one of 4 or 6 tires.

How many miles did you have on your old tires?

They were new maybe about 1000 miles, but I think the tires they put on are junk. I will be traveling down to Florida for the winter and wanted better tires for safety etc.

I run 100/95 PSI. They heat up to about 108/102 psi and usually in the 105 temp range. Heading out today so I will verify it.

The pressures sound about right, but the temps seem high. Seems like the high temp warning on my TPMS came set at 154 degrees. According to the TPMS literature, that's the recommended high temp of many tire manufacturers.
I think the highest temps I've seen on a 22" class A tires and the Isata is about 115 degrees with OAT of 95 degrees.
Your new Michelins should be good tires. I might talk to the tire shop where you purchased them.

Oh, one other thing, Michelin has a chart that shows what pressure you should run for your specific tire based on axle weight. I used the chart and reduced tire pressure from what the class A MH came with and got a better ride. When you're out on a trip, you might consider filling up the fuel tank, visit the CAT scales, then look at the chart. It could make a difference.

One other thought, the internal sensors might read higher than the external sensors.

Fronts and rears both increase 12 psi and hang around 105 degrees temp. That’s at 70 mph and ambient temp of 88 degrees.

Our originals got about 35,000 miles. I put on Michelin and have 45,000 miles and they are going just fine - not anywhere near the "replace" mark. Good ties.

They were Continentals. I liked them but one wore too much and we were headed for Mexico.
